High quality wire rods for steel wool

$15.00

The authors surveyed current wire shaving operations in the U.S. and Japan to determine major problems with the manufacture of steel wool, a product of increasing importance for automobile pads. A test shaving machine was then developed to assist in the extension of shaving tool life. The heat number is considered a cause of decreased tool life, and therefore 3 steel heats were tested for 1)wear on shaving tools; 2)mechanical properties; 3)microstructure; 4)chemical composition; and 5)nonmetallic inclusions.
