Use of Double Twist Stranding Machines – a new approach of making steel wire strands

$15.00

SKET Magdelburg has developed a machine system enabling the double twist process to be applied universally for stranding steel wire strands, i.e. standard strands and special-purpose strands – steelcord – can be produced by the same principle.Wires move from the pay-off-device into a stranding section where they are arranged in layers and twisted by rotating the twisting device so that the stranded unit takes on its final form as regards geometry. Finally, the stranded unit is overrotated and conveyed to the pull-off and take-up unit, which in its basic design conforms with that familiar from the cable industry.
