Development of Magnetic Scaling Rod with Laser Beam

$15.00

The magnetic scaling rod has been developed to be used for various types of actuators which can control their own stroke. Usually different types of sensor are used separately to control the actuator’s stroke. However, this system of control cannot achieve high accuracy and dependability. A magnetic scaling rod was made by drawing a metastable sustanite steel rod and locally irradiating it’s surface with a laser beam at regular intervals. The magnetic scaling rod contained 18% Cr, 7% Ni and a small amount of Fe.
