Wastewater and sludge from metals industries constitute a load on the world’s wastewater treatment systems. We need a better understanding of the process (attachment mechanisms), more accurate measurements of wastewater stream components, a determination of the best treatment system in terms of area, resources and local regulations, and, most important, new ideas with new chemical processes to improve the quality of the streams that discharge to the municipality or even reuse of this water in circulation.
