Mathematical determination of recalescence in quenching

$15.00

During the cooling phase of thermal treatment of steel (wires) and particularly the patenting operation, there is an exothermic reaction called recalescence. This is a disturbing reaction preventing any isothermal transformation. There is a mathematical relation allowing a correlation between TTT curves and CCT curves to follow the evolution of the wire by an isotherm cooling. These relations are determined by the notion of Shell Additivity and by the Avrami equations. The purpose of this presentation is to show and explain this correlation.
