Anisotropy of mechanical properties of drawn steel wires

$15.00

This article presents research into the yield point of steel wires of 0.2 percent and 0.7 percent carbon as demonstrated in tension and compression tests. Experiments showed that drawn wire shows anisotropy of yield point. The yield point of steel wires with 0.7 percent carbon in the compression test is lower than yield point calculated from the tension test. Wire with a 0.2-percent carbon content is characterized by lower anisotropy of yield point.
