Lubricant considerations in wet steel wiredrawing

$15.00

Dry lubricants for steel wiredrawing are the majority of the steel wiredrawing lubricant market and are nearly maintenance free. This is not the case for the wet drawing fluids used in fine gauge drawing. Wet drawing fluids require operator attention and proper maintenance to assure long lifetimes and continued performance. The critical parameters for lubricant performance will be described and failure modes examined. An explanation of basic lubricant testing will be given along with general recommendations for maintenance. Both water-based and oil-based lubricants will be covered
