Indicators of quality of wires and ropes in the wire industry

$15.00

This paper proposes indicators that give a more accurate estimation of wire and rope quality than traditional methods. Fatigue durability of rope can be calculated using this method. An application of new indicators for estimation of properties of spring wires during the aging process is also proposed. A relationship between the increment ?Wt to carbon content has been found that allows for prediction of property variation in high-carbon steel wire.
