Remee Wire & Cable, a prominent manufacturer of electronic and electrical wire and cable, has announced the introduction of their latest product line, the VoltGuard600™ series. This new series offers a wide range of building wire that is commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
The VoltGuard600™ series has been specifically designed to safely transmit electricity through various applications such as branch circuits, feeders, and service entrances. A unique feature of Remee’s product is the combination of multiple UL types in a single cable, making it suitable for both wet and dry applications.
The VoltGuard600™ products comply with all UL listings for all voltages and installation environments. These include UL 83, UL 1581, UL 44, UL 854, CSA C22.2 No. 38, C(UL), and NEC NFPA 70. The cables in this series are equipped with copper conductors and are insulated or jacketed with materials such as PVC, XLPE, and nylon. They are rated at 600 volts, with some capable of handling up to 1kV, and have specific temperature ratings, generally ranging from -40°C to 90°C in both dry and wet conditions.
The VoltGuard600™ cables are typically installed in conduits, raceways, or cable trays. However, some variants can be directly buried or used for underground service entrances. The VoltGuard600™ series includes a variety of building wires.
The XHHW-2, for instance, comes with XLPE insulation and is rated 600V/1kV. It can handle temperatures from -40°C to +90°C in both wet and dry conditions. It is resistant to flame, moisture, and sunlight, making it ideal for installations in conduits, cable trays, and outdoor feeders for commercial and industrial buildings.
The RHH/RHW-2/USE-2 variant also features XLPE insulation and is rated 600V/1kV. It can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +90°C in both wet and dry conditions. This variant is resistant to flame, abrasion, sunlight, and moisture, making it suitable for indoor dry locations that require extra mechanical and flame protection, or for outdoor or underground feeders where cables face moisture, sunlight, or burial conditions.
The THWN-2/THHN variant comes with PVC insulation and a nylon jacket. It is rated 600V and can handle temperatures from -40°C to +90°C in both wet and dry conditions. This variant has thinner insulation than XLPE wire and offers good abrasion, chemical, and sunlight resistance due to its nylon jacket. It is a versatile general-purpose wire.
