Results of tensile tests on new and corroded samples

$15.00

Tensile test results for steel wire rope aircraft bracing cable are reported. Ropes were tested for initial breaking loads and after subjection to corrosive attack (spraying with sodium chloridesolution). Various end connections and corrosion preventive methods were tested. Cadmium coated cable with soldered terminals or sleevefittings and two coats of aluminum bronze paint provided the best results.
