A new electric annealing furnace for copper wire is discussed. Uniformity of anneal, variation of the furnace atmosphere, ease of loading and unloading, simplicity of the gas tight seal, short heating and cooling cycles, low cost, low power requirements, flexibility in operation, portability, and the dry, clean anneal resulting from its use are described.
