A single test method, no matter how meticulously performed, cannot completely evaluate all the characteristics of a given lubricant or drawing practice. Nevertheless, of all current tests for lubricants and drawing techniques, no other single test or combination of tests has provided as much worthwhile information on as many different operating variables as the one known as the “Weight of Residual Film Test.”
