The countries under investigation include China, Taiwan, India, Italy, Malaysia, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam. The preliminary phase, initially set to conclude within 90 days, has been extended to 135 days due to the complexities and challenges in gathering satisfactory evidence, according to the CBSA.
The investigation was launched in April following a complaint by Sivaco Wire Group 2004, LP and ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada. The aim of the investigation is to address the alleged material injury suffered by these companies due to price undercutting and loss of sales attributed to dumped imports. A preliminary determination or a decision to terminate the investigation is expected by September 4.
