Hellenic Cables, the cable division of Cenergy Holdings, has secured a major contract for the BC-Wind offshore wind farm in Poland. The company signed the agreement in a consortium with DEME Offshore. Together, they will handle the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of the offshore export cable system.
The wind farm developer, Ocean Winds, is an international offshore wind company. It operates as a 50/50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE. The 390 MW project will sit about 23 km off Poland’s Baltic Sea coast.
Under the contract, Hellenic Cables will deliver a full offshore export cable package. The scope includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, transport, installation, termination, and testing of about 29 km of 275 kV HVAC offshore export cable. The contract also includes a complete spares package.
The cable system will connect the offshore substation platform (OSP) directly to shore. It will land near Lubiatowo, close to the planned landfall point.
Hellenic Cables will manufacture the cable at its plant in Corinth, Greece. The company expects to complete manufacturing in 2027. General Manager Kostas Savvakis said the contract highlights Hellenic Cables’ role in supporting Europe’s offshore wind growth and Poland’s transition to cleaner energy.
In a separate announcement, Hellenic Cables said it has joined the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). The company plans to work with industry leaders to advance innovation, safety, and sustainability in electrical manufacturing. Hellenic Cables said the move supports its expansion in North America and its goal to contribute to U.S. electrical infrastructure development.
“Our participation in NEMA underscores our strategic commitment to the U.S. market and our role in supporting America’s electrical infrastructure,” said Adam Labbe, Sales & Business Development Manager at Hellenic Cables.
