Marmon Aerospace & Defense Group has acquired Marine Tech Wire & Cable

Marmon A&D Strengthens Support for the U.S. Navy

Marmon A&D Group announced its acquisition of Marine Tech, a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of electrical wire and cable specializing in circuit integrity technology for U.S. Navy ships. This strategic move expands Marmon’s manufacturing capacity and strengthens its ability to support the military and naval industries with advanced cable solutions.

Charles Clement, President of Marmon A&D, said the acquisition continues the company’s steady investments in marine manufacturing. “With the opening of our Hooksett, New Hampshire marine power cable facility and the acquisition of Marine Tech, we can now offer greater capacity, shorter lead times, and a full range of cable products to support U.S. Navy shipbuilders,” Clement said. Moreover, he emphasized that this deal further strengthens Marmon’s commitment to defense-grade production.

Marine Tech Brings Two Decades of Expertise

Marine Tech, founded in 2000 by Mark Lindsay and Kosta Kontanis, began with four employees in a 30,000-square-foot facility in York, Pennsylvania. By 2004, the company moved to a 50,000-square-foot plant in York to handle rising demand. Over time, it developed an extensive product portfolio that includes powerspecialtylightweightlow-smokesilicone, and watertight circuit integrity cables.

Furthermore, Marine Tech’s multiconductor cables serve mission-critical shipboard systems, offshore oil platforms, and industrial installations that require durability and performance under extreme conditions. As a result, the company built a strong reputation for quality and reliability in demanding marine environments.

Strategic Alignment with Marmon’s Marine Operations

Robert Canny, Senior Vice President of Marmon A&D Group, said the acquisition aligns seamlessly with Marmon’s existing product lines. “We’re thrilled to welcome Marine Tech to the Marmon family,” he noted. “Their circuit integrity cable expertise complements our shipboard offerings, expanding our capabilities to support major U.S. Navy contracts.” Consequently, this partnership improves Marmon’s responsiveness and strengthens its position in the defense manufacturing sector.

Marine Tech founders Mark Lindsay and Kosta Kontanis described the move as an opportunity for innovation and growth. “Joining Marmon marks the beginning of an exciting chapter,” they said in a joint statement. “Together, we’ll combine our experience and resources to deliver even greater value to our customers.” In addition, both founders will remain with the business to ensure a smooth integration and continued development.

Expanding Marmon’s Commitment to Defense Manufacturing

The Marmon Group, a Berkshire Hathaway company, continues to expand its manufacturing network through targeted acquisitions. These efforts strengthen its footprint across the defense, transportation, and industrial sectors. As a result, adding Marine Tech to the Marmon family enhances its marine cable production capacity and reinforces its mission to supply advanced, reliable cabling solutions for U.S. Navy and allied defense applications.
