U.K. manufacturer of knitted wire mesh invests in its Indian plant near New Delhi

KnitMesh Technologies has expanded its New Delhi facility with new knitting machines capable of producing wire mesh up to 1000 mm wide, doubling capacity. The investment supports growth in green hydrogen, aerospace, and enclosure applications, while strengthening the company’s role in regional and global supply chains.

KnitMesh Technologies Expands Capabilities with Major Investment in India Facility

KnitMesh Technologies, a leading U.K. manufacturer of knitted wire mesh solutions, has made a major investment at its manufacturing facility near New Delhi, India, which opened in 2023. This development supports the company’s long-term growth strategy and boosts its ability to serve key global markets.

Doubling Production Capacity with Advanced Equipment

The Indian site has new knitting machines and upgraded equipment now capable of producing mesh up to 1,000 millimeters wide. This investment will enable KnitMesh Technologies to double its production capacity while improving resource efficiency and responsiveness.

These advancements form part of the company’s ongoing strategy to expand its technical capabilities, streamline manufacturing, and keep pace with fast-growing industry demand.

Supporting High-Growth Industries and New Applications

With the new technology, KnitMesh Technologies can better serve emerging sectors such as green hydrogen production, where high-performance mesh supports electrolyzer manufacturing.
Additionally, the wider mesh products are ideal for zoos and aviaries, where strong, large-format stainless steel screens ensure safe, durable enclosures for animals and birds.

Expanding Workforce and Preparing for Future Growth

When the Indian facility first opened, it employed 16 people. Following this expansion, the team will grow to 24 employees.
While the facility’s physical footprint remains intact, KnitMesh Technologies has already acquired additional building space near New Delhi to accommodate future growth and operational flexibility.

Strengthening Local Support and Collaboration

By establishing a strong local presence, KnitMesh Technologies can now deliver faster service, on-the-ground support, and enhanced technical collaboration to Indian manufacturers.
This approach ensures customers gain easier access to KnitMesh’s range of engineered solutions while helping them solve complex production challenges more efficiently.

Advancing Innovation and Global Growth

“This investment reinforces our commitment to innovation and customer service,” said Peter Evans, Managing Director of KnitMesh Technologies. “By expanding our mesh production in India, we can meet rising global demand and deliver more specialized solutions.”

Saurabh Thapar, Managing Director of KnitMesh Technologies India, added, “The New Delhi facility plays a key role in supporting both regional and international operations. These upgrades will future-proof our manufacturing and enable us to meet growing demand for high-quality, custom-engineered wire mesh.”

This expansion demonstrates KnitMesh Technologies’ ongoing commitment to innovation, efficiency, and global collaboration, positioning the company at the forefront of international wire mesh manufacturing.
