Description
The lecture presents a summary of more than 30 papers written or co-written by the author from 1995 to 2004. Those articles are analyzed in six parts on topics that include wire rod quality and indicators of wire and wire rod drawability; stream and electrochemical descaling of the wire rod; hydrodynamic drawing of wire and its effect on mechanical properties of wire and their ASTRO (Analysis, Structure, Texture, Residual Stress, and Outer Layer) characteristics; roller die drawing (process parameters, wire properties, and some ASTRO characteristics); FEM simulation of hydrodynamic and roller die drawing of wire (comparison with a conventional process); and strain aging of wire. The presentation offers conclusions as well as a proposal for future research.
