A greener alternative to acid pickling

$15.00

An account is given of ongoing research into the accelerated, low effluent descaling of heat treated steel wire by combined use of electrolysis and high intensity ultrasound under near neutral conditions. In view of the increasing environmental legislation concerning industrial waste waters, spent liquors from the conventional technique of mineral acid pickling are problematic and their disposal costly.
