Description
An improved process for coloring identification for plastic insulated wires, developed by Nokia Machinery of Finland, is described. It consists of pumping liquid color from a color container through a changeover valve to a high pressure pump, with a resulting even color mixture, shorter time for color change, and consequent reduction in down time and reduced quantities of scrap. The system is based on a stranded extruder to which the equipment is easily retrofitted and extruder productivity is illustrated. The LICOL-method developed by Nokia is also described.
