Description
A new serving and stranding machine is presented in which two rotating cylinders (rotors) are mounted in parallel in a rotatable frame. Each rotor carries a number of spools from which wires are paid out. The downtime of the machine is reduced to a few minutes. The new system is controlled by a computer program maximizing production line output per shift by selecting for different cable types an optimal sequence for the application of servings or for stranding. Another benefit lies in the fact that the investment in and maintenance of factory spools or reels is greatly reduced.
