NM-B building wire is a high volume and very cost competitive type of product. This paper will assess the existing methods of producing NM-B and compare them to a new concept combining multiwire drawing/annealing + insulating + jacketing in one step. The paper will focus on the technical challenges to combine those different processes and their impact on the overall productivity and how a combination of such processes would be of benefit.
