A review of the manufacturing progress for power applications of high temperature superconductor

$15.00

The developments in the current carrying capacity and long length tape production of high temperature superconductor (HTS) has reached a level where the production of cable for power transmission appears very feasible. The unique properties of texturing on cold working and heat treatment of Bi-2223 makes it most suitable for power transmission cable application. Powder in the tube (PIT) method using either powder oxide or metallic precursor appears the most likely process for the production of silver clad HTS tapes.
