A study of cold-heading and warm-heading

$15.00

An experimental header and a trimmer were used to test cold heading and trimming of ordinary hexagonal bolt materials. Results on material toughness, deformation, and the effect of changes in work speed are presented. First form vs. trimming loads, hardness patterns, deformation and load in warm-heading, work load vs. temperature, stock temperatures vs. limit-work- ratios-without-cracks, and stock temperature vs. tool life are discussed.
