In 1982, Canada Wire and Cable manufacturing facilities replaced the copper redraw rod with a Krupp-Hazelett continuous rod line. A pickling system designed to clean the rod which uses a minimal amount of water, works without the production of effluent, and without the need for a waste treatment plant is described in detail and illustrated.
