Description
This paper considers the effects of various active screen plasma nitriding (ASPN) parameters such as temperature and active screen set-up parameters including top lid type (screen or simple) and screen hole size, on the behavior of a low-alloy steel, DIN 1.6580. Results indicated that increasing the diameter of the screen hole didn’t influence the compound layer thickness when using a screen top lid, but it increased layer thickness when using a simple top lid under a constant temperature.
