Description
The technique of crosslinking polyethylene through silane bridging was first commercialised in the late 1960’s. Since then the technology has developed and a wide variety of compounds which can be silane crosslinked are now available for Wire and Cable applications. The most recent innovation in silane crosslinking has been the introduction of silane copolymers. These crosslinkable polymers differ in that the silane is not chemically ‘grafted’ onto polyethylene.
