The properties of Nylon 6, a sharp-melting polymer with a high melting point and fluid melt, are described. The toughness and clarity of Nylon 6 are optimized by minimizing melt temperature, reducing the air gap, and speeding the cold-quench. The performance of the jacket in service is enhanced by moisture aging.
