Metsep SA has operated hydrochloric acid regeneration plants in South Africa for 25 years. The technology used is based upon Babcock (Woodhall Duckham) spray roasting. A centralized acid regeneration facility eliminates the need for steel wire manufacturers to purchase full-strength hydrochloric acid and provides an economically sound solution to the dispersal of spent pickle liquors.
