In 1996 Owens Corning introduced AquaBlok[TM] cable reinforcements, a water blocking flexible tensile member, to the market. AquaBlok™ reinforcement gave the customer the ability to apply water blocking and tensile strength to the optical cable in one step. Through continual research and development in support of the cable industry, Owens Corning has developed the next generation in water swellable strength members.
