Description
Clamped joints (CJ), which can be classified as permanent joints, are often used for connecting and fixing steel wire ropes, electric cables, or hydraulic conduits. This paper presents a numerical analysis (FEM) to estimate the efficiency of a given shape of clamped joints. It also presents a digital database of material parameters most often employed in CJs. The modeling methodology of clamped joints it describes allows for new clamped joint designs as well as for improving the existing ones.
