Analysis of wire temperatures and power requirements on multipass drawing productivity

$15.00

A mathematical model for the prediction of drawing temperatures and power requirements in multiple pass drawing of high carbon wire is presented. The model is programmed for solution by computer. Single-die temperature rise and power requirements, interpass cooling, and multipass drawing are considered. Applications include optimization of tapered drafting sequences, equipment acquisition, equipment modification and maintenance, equipment design, equipment scheduling, modifying practices, and direct wire cooling.
