A mathematical approach to the selection of annealing steps and die sizes for the wiredrawing process is presented. Equations are given for the calculation of percent reduction during single, multiple and equi-multiple wiredrawing; annealing and die sizes; and wire speed and slipping. Examples are presented for each type of calculation.
