The Great Man-Made River Project (GMRP) in the Great Socialist Peoples Libyan Arab Jamahiriya is designed to convey of fresh water from inland sources to the coast in large diameter prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP). In what is largest civil engineering project in the world, the Dong Ah Construction Company has manufactured and installed over 1800 kilometers of mostly 4000 mm diameter PCCP. Well over half a million tons of high tensile prestressing wire was supplied from European and Far East.
