Atmospheric corrosion of zinc- and aluminum-coated steel wire products

$15.00

This paper gives the makers and users of coated steel wire products the opportunity to share in the results of a long term corrosion test for metallic-coated steel wire, performed by the ASTM from 1961 through 1981. The paper only indicates the percentage of the steel wire surface that remains metallic coated with zinc or aluminum after 20 years of exposure. No subsurface evaluation is given. The ASTM detailed Special Technical Publication at the time of this writing remained unwritten. The three sites involved in the study were State College, PA.; Newark, Kearny, NJ.; and Kure Beach, N.C.
