Basic screw design geometrics and system configurations to manufacture plastic compounds via twin screw extruders

$15.00

Polymer compounds are used for coating of wires. These compounds by definition are composed of the base resin thoroughly mixed with other components that provide beneficial properties relating to temperature, conductivity, flammability, color, etc. Twin screw extruders mix fillers and additives with the polymer to achieve these properties. Screw design and upstream/downstream system configuration are important factors to perform the required dispersive and distributive mixing so that the polymer compound performs as required.
