Development of C-Clad, a corrosion resistant, high-strength material for ocean wire rope and cables, is described; 90-10 C-Clad is a cupronickel-stainless steel composite material. Fatigue strength; resistance to fish bite; tensile strength; ductility; and applications in wire rope, tow cable, and armoring for electrical cable are discussed.
