Three different production methods are evaluated in the manufacture of 6201 alloy wire for electrical applications. Conventional casting and rolling, continuous casting rolling/solution heat treatments, and the Lamitref Aluminum CHTA continuous casting/ thermomechanical rolling treatments are compared by production costs, mechanical properties of end products, and percentage out of specification.
