The use of cellulose acetate butyrate tape as primary insulation for wire and cables is discussed. Physical and electrical properties are described. Excellent laboratory results were obtained when voltage breakdown was tested in wire which had been subjected to bending, 120~C temperatures, and immersion in distilled and salt water.
