Characterization of Al wirebreaks as a tool for productivity improvement

$15.00

This paper deals with wire breaks that occur during wiredrawing of aluminum rod, which are characterized by different techniques, in order to define the origin of the failure, which can be found in either the aluminum rod casting process or wiredrawing. Correlation of defects, with characterization of materials involved during different steps of rod manufacture, allows identification of the source of the failure and subsequent improvement, which leads to better process performance.
