Description
Copper fines from rod breakdown machines collected from different sources were characterized using different techniques. The size distribution of the particles was conducted using sieving and weighing, and by the use of a Scanning electron microscope equipped with a software program. Morphological characterization of copper fines was performed using an Optical Microscope and a Scanning electron microscope. Results indicated that 50% of the copper fines were below 5 microns. An investigation of current available filtering media was also conducted and reported in this paper.
