Description
This work investigates the possibility of applying the process of hydrodynamic drawing to the coating of low-carbon steel wires. Instead of typical lubricants, different types of polymers were used and various surface treatments of wires before drawing were applied, including pickling, chromating and phosphating. The tests of the coatings determined their thickness, porosity adhesivity and corrosion resistance. It was found that the thickness of coatings depends on reduction, narrow gaps in the approach die and types of polymers.
