Description
Ferrous inclusions in copper and aluminum rod, for example, are among the most dangerous defects in primary rolling mills and drawing lines. They are very costly to drawing line production, since resulting wire breaks mean high downtime and frequent line stoppage. In addition, requirements for wire quality have become more stringent in the last few years. Coil weights have increased and drawing fine wire down to 10 to 20 microns both place high demands on rod and wire quality.
