A system developed at the Baltimore plant of Cleaners Hanger Co for the continuous feeding of green low carbon steel rod to the dead block with only one operator per shift is presented. Conservation of space and man hours are achieved. Rod is processed at the rate of one 3200-lb stem every 20 min for the production of garment hangers.
