Comparison of on-line coloring and off-line coloring in optical ribbon manufacturing

$15.00

Conventional optical fibers are colored in a separate process before ribbon making. Demands of productivity have forced machine manufacturers to find more efficient solutions. This study was performed to find technical solutions for making ribbon on-line and off-line without changing the mechanical properties of the end product. As a result, technical solutions for ribbon manufacture either with on- or off-line coloring have been found. Based on these results, both on- and off-line methods can be used while maintaining all the desired ribbon properties.
