This paper describes how to design roll-tooling and drawing dies for the wire forming process using CAD/CAM software. It presents a numerical method for the simulation of the wire forming process by means of non-linear elasto-plastic Finite Element Analysis software. It also deals with issues about learning to understand the wire forming process in order to improve speed and quality of tool design.
