The use of high speed computerized automatic measuring systems in conjunction with existing plant processing machinery for the measurement of telephone cables is discussed. Carrier transmission systems (FDM/AM, TDM/PCM), cable transmission parameters (multipair cable and multipair cable circuit), cable design criteria (mutual capacitance, geometric and dielectric considerations), and computerized measurement are considered.
