Description

This presentation will discuss the development of LTV Steel’s Supplier Evaluation System (SES). The system was developed with involvement from purchasing, front line operations, mill employees and accounting. SES objectively measures the following: Quality, delivery performance, service, technical value added, organization/financial capability, economic competitiveness and administrative effectiveness. SES is reducing costs and improving supplier relationships. In addition, LTV Steel’s approach to supplier improvement through ‘vendorware’ will be discussed.
