A machine which continuously casts and rolls high purity aluminum rod at a rate of 1000 lbs/hr is described. The operation of this compact, efficient, labor- and cost-saving machine is discussed. The rod produced has been shown to be satisfactory with regard to tensile strength, elongation, and drawing and welding characteristics.
