Continuous improvement in wire and rod coils spheroidize annealing

$15.00

This paper presents the results of tests performed on continuous multi-zone roller hearth furnaces and bath roller hearth furnaces using endothermic gas as a protective atmosphere and nitrogen gas as blending and purging atmosphere. The test procedure adopted for each furnace consists of testing the mechanical properties, identifying the proper recipe for each steel grade in terms of temperature and carbon potential, and running the thermal cycle. Comparisons have been made to check results variability between the continuous and batch furnaces.
