Copper conductor for LAN cable; demands of the wire

$15.00

This paper reviews the increasing worldwide use of LAN cables in accordance with Category 5 and 6 specifications. It also discusses the requirements for copper conductor elongation specifications and how these elongations can be achieved in a consistent production process. The diameter and ovality tolerances are reviewed as well as the surface requirements of the conductor, such as surface cleanliness and surface finish, which is essential for wall-insulated conductors. The recrystallization of the copper conductor structure after annealing and final drawing are demonstrated.
